Datawind unveils VidyaTab-Punjabi in partnership with Vismaad | Sikh Vogue

Datawind has announced the launch of VidyaTab-Punjabi, the first-ever Punjabi education tablet.

For this launch, Datawind has partnered with Vismaad, a developer of educational content in Punjabi.

The tablet is priced Rs.3999/-.

The launch event was marked by the presence of Bardish Chagger, Canadian Minister of Small Business and Tourism and current Leader of the Government in the House of Commons.

With this initiative, Datawind hopes to rejuvenate the Punjabi language, which is facing extinction on many parts of the world. The tab comes with over 1000 apps that help users learn Punjabi language and understand the Punjabi culture.

In addition to educational videos based on History, folk stories and contemporary issues in classical cartoon animation, the tab also contains interactive games in Punjabi.

All the apps in the tab are developed by Vismaad.

On the occasion of her visit to India, Canadian Minister Bardish Chaggar said, “SMEs are the backbones of our two economies and I am looking forward to encouraging greater interaction between them as that is how we will achieve greater growth.”
